Monroe's Mill

Paul Wookey's first class flat picking and Gold Guitar winning vocal, Jack Melbourne's driving banjo, high lonesome voice and tasteful dobro, Aron (Pig) McLean's double bass, baritone vocal and bad jokes, Josh Grundy’s hot picking on the mando and the amazing fiddle work and insanity of Peter Denahy makes for an entertaining experience that you will be wishing never ends! "

“Paul Wookey may just be the best traditional blues country singer to emerge in Australia in many years. I don't think I have heard any who cover the range of material he does with such ease and conviction - from Dylan to Jimmie Rogers he has that rare ability to invest a song with a quality uniquely his own and there is no finer interpreter of a Hank Williams song around. In addition, he's an outstanding guitar picker - try trading licks with him on fast fiddle tune - he'll leave you breathless,” Mike McClellan.
"Most recently, Peter (Denahy) has shot to fame for his song "Sort of Dunno Nothin" which typifies an unexciting conversation between a parent and child. The clip on YouTube is being spun around the world and has gained a momentum that has taken even Peter by surprise." – ‘The Conversation Hour’ with Richard Fiedler, ABC Brisbane. Peter Denahy will be bringing his acclaimed solo act to the truck show dinner this year.  A fresh brand of comedy and music is brought by Peter who had them rolling in the aisles at the Victorian County Music Awards earlier this year.

Peter Denahy

Pete Denahy is the man responsible for the hit song "Sort Of Dunno Nothin'" which has been played on Spicks and Specks, Rage and even on Big Brother.
He spent his early childhood in Japan and gained an appreciation of music from his Japanese grandfather who was a conductor, composer and cello player. At twenty-two he joined a band called the "Ploughboys" playing the fiddle and guitar and he did the pub rounds in Melbourne, six nights out of seven, which was a great experience but hard on the liver. Playing with the Ploughboys took him to one of his favourite festivals, Maldon Folk Festival and then to the bigger ones, Port Fairy and the National at Canberra.

Having a swag of material under his belt, he toured toured the country with several travelling shows doing comedy and playing fiddle in bands.

He road tested a lot of new songs while on tour . One of these was a ditty called "The Petrol Head Fly". This classy song is one in a small series of bug songs that includes "Bruce the Spider" and "The Dung Beetle" (which was performed on Red Faces in 2009 as part of the first Hey Hey It's Saturday reunion shows).

He is also booked on a regular basis as an MC for a range of events. His MC gigs have included the Herald Sun Animal Entertainment Zone for the duration of the 2009 Royal Melbourne Show, main stage at the Deni Ute Muster two years running with Mike Brady
and the big gig in Alice Springs in 2009 for the end of the Australia-wide Variety Bash that included Leo Sayer, Frankie J Holden, John Paul Young and other Oz Rock icons.
